As an artist, I work in a variety of different media, but primarily, I work with Encaustic wax. Encaustic wax is pigmented beeswax which is heated and applied to a surface such as wood or card. A variety of techniques can be utilised when doing abstract designs, but I tend to concentrate on realism. My favourite subjects are flora and fauna. Encaustic wax paintings date back as far as Ancient Egypt (Fayuum portraits).
